Typhoon
Pressure, humidity and heat land together — and you probably didn't sleep well either. This isn't superstition.
The typhoon hasn't landed, the wind hasn't picked up, but the sky is low, the air is motionless, and it's oppressive. That weather tends to last a day or two — and those are the days people break out.
One: the wind stopped. The air movement that normally carries sweat and heat away is gone, and evaporation at the skin's surface falls off. This is the main mechanism — not wetter air, but still air.
Two: heat pushes sebum up. Temperature hasn't dropped and evaporation has slowed, so 'hot' and 'held in' stack on each other.
Three: your routine breaks. Rushing work before the day off, a noisy night, the clean-up after. Most people sleep badly and eat badly across those two days.
Four: you wash your face more. Because it feels tacky. Over-washing weakens the barrier, which makes inflammation more likely, not less.
You can't control the first three. You can control the fourth.
Most pre-typhoon skin trouble is downstream of one thing: evaporation slowed down.
The move isn't to reinforce. It's to get out of the way.
